Dogtenders

Our park is staffed with trained attendants we call dogtenders.  Their job is to:

  • Ensure the safety of dogs and humans by observing and managing dog play.

  • Maintain a clean park by cleaning up after dogs

  • Answer owner questions with regards to our dog park or dog behavior

We encourage our guests to allow our dogtenders to manage dog play and alert them to any concerns you may have.

Park Rules:

Leashes & Collars:

  • All dogs are required to be on leash outside of the off-leash park

  • All dogs are required to have a collar inside the off-leash park

  • No prong collars inside the off-leash park

Ages

  • Dogs must be at least 3 months of age

Vaccinations & Health

  • Dogs must be up to date on DHPP, Rabies and Bordotella or be able to show titer test of immunization

  • Dogs must be on heartworm prevention and show no evidence of other parasitic worms

Behavior

  • No history of aggression towards other dogs or people

  • Must not demonstrate continued mounting/humping of other dogs or humans

**We understand that even the best dogs can have an off day (just like us!)

Spay/Neuter

  • Although we understand there are good reasons an owner may choose not to spay/neuter their dog, (in addition to the risk of dog pregnancy), in group play this can lead toward increased compulsion/aggression between dogs, often from other dogs towards the unaltered dog.  Owners who choose to bring unaltered dogs may do so as long as their dog does not impact the safety and welfare of other dogs in the park.  This includes compulsory mounting or humping by or towards other dogs.

Park Etiquette:

  • Be kind. Our love of dogs is the common thread that all visitors to Bar K share.  We encourage you to celebrate these commonalities.

  • Please allow our dogtenders to manage the play of other dogs in the park.  If there is a situation your are concerned about, please notify them and they will respond accordingly

  • Treats: We discourage bringing outside treats into the park as some dogs may become obsessive distracting them from normal dog play and exercise their owners want them to get.

  • Avoid handling another owner’s dog without their permission

  • We enjoy maintaining a clean park.  Our dogtenders will help to ensure dogs are picked up after.  While we aim to clean up every pile, there are times when we may not get to it right away.  In these cases, we do encourage you to pick up after your dog.

  • No humans on dog play equipment

  • There are a number of food options that deliver to Bar K.  Please ask our staff to provide you with menus.
